This Privacy Policy describes how KeyTakes ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you use our website, mobile applications, and services (collectively, the "Service").

  • Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and, if you use Google sign-in, your name and profile information.
  • Content You Submit: URLs of videos or articles you submit for summarization, and any notes or reactions you add.
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, and interactions with the Service.
  • Device & Log Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.
  • Subscription & Purchase Information: If you subscribe, your payment is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play (in the mobile apps) or by Stripe (on the web). We receive your subscription status and purchase history but never your full card number.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Service, including generating summaries and managing your account.
  • To process transactions and manage subscriptions.
  • To improve our Service, analyze usage trends, and fix issues.
  • To communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and support.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party providers:

  • Supabase — Authentication and database hosting.
  • Google Firebase — Analytics (usage), Crashlytics (crash and diagnostic reporting), and Cloud Messaging (push notifications) in the mobile apps. Google Analytics is used on the web.
  • RevenueCat — Manages in-app subscription status across the App Store and Google Play.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play / Stripe — Payment processing for subscriptions.
  • YouTube / AI providers — Submitted video URLs and their transcripts are processed to generate summaries.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers who perform functions on our behalf, or when required by law.

5. Your Rights

  • Access, update, or delete your account information.
  • Export your data.
  • Opt out of marketing communications.
  • Request deletion of your personal data by contacting us.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
